Imaging Case of the Week 172 Answer

The lateral knee x-ray shows a deep depression of the lateral condylopatellar sulcus. This is known as the lateral femoral notch sign and is indicative of an associated ACL tear.

Our patient went on to have an MRI of the knee which showed a complete tear of the ACL.
