The AP and mortise ankle views show soft tissue swelling over the malleoli. The lateral ankle x-ray shows joint effusion. There is a faint lucency extending from the growth plate into the distal tibial diaphysis.

CT scan showed a Salter Harris type IV fracture of the distal tibia.
