Lab case 392

48-year-old alcoholic woman presented with confusion; her venous blood gases showed the following:

PH = 7.10

pCO2 = 36 mmHg

HCO3 = 11 mmol/L

Hb = 139 g/L

Na = 139 mmol/L

K = 3.7 mmol/L

Cl = 110 mmol/L

Glucose = 5.2 mmol/L

Lactate = 8 mmol/L

Creatinine = 55 umol/L

Interpret these results
