Lab Case 298 Interpretation

A 4 week old baby is brought to ED with a history of vomiting over 1 week. The vomiting initially thought to be normal, has increased and baby appears to be hungry all the time. The baby’s weight gain over this week has been around 100 grams.  Prior to this the baby had been feeding well and gaining weight. Birth and antenatal history unremarkable. VBG was done:

25 year old male presents to ED feeling generally unwell. He complains that he is feeling weak and has been unable to complete his gym workouts recently. He has no background history, and denies any current medication or illicit drug use. He is a professional body builder.  O/E Vitals normal limits. Very muscular physique, marked acne on his back. Lab Case 184

55 Year old female presents with a 1 week history of diarrhoea and vomiting. She has recently been discharged from hospital after treatment of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. She has a background of cirrhosis of the liver and diabetes on metformin+dapagliflozin combination. The patient has a needle phobia and was hyperventilating for some time prior to the insertion of the drip.
