30 year-old-lady sent by her GP for increasing tiredness over the last few months. She has been under too much stress, due to increasing work demands and hers wedding planning.

Her blood gases (Venous) showed the following:

HCO3 = 39.2 mmol/L

Na = 136 mmol/L

K = 2.2 mmol/L

Cl = 89 mmol/L

Glucose = 4.6 mmol/L

Lactate = 1.3 mmol/L

Hb = 151 g/L
