You are reviewing a 76 year old patient who has presented after a 90 minute episode of dizzyness and shortness of breath. His GP has referred him in with an irregular pulse.
Interpretation:
- Rate: 48
- Rhythm: sinus rhythm
- Axis: Normal 0-90 degrees
- Morphology: bifid p waves
- Intervals: increasing PR interval seen in QRS complexes 1/2 followed by dropped QRS (and seen again in QRS complexes 3/4) increasing PR interval in complexes 7/8, alternating p and QRS in complexes 5 and 6 with p with dropped QRS. QRS 100 QTc 430 (Bazzett)
- Summary: 2nd degree AV block, alternating between Mobitz I and II
