The abdominal x-ray does not show small or large bowel dilatation. There is an incidental finding of calcification of the aortic wall (obscured by the lumbar vertebral bodies) raising possibility of an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

The patient subsequently had a CT scan of the abdomen which showed a 5.5 cm infrarenal aneurysm.
