The chest x- ray shows

a left sided pleural based opacity with what looks like inward indentation of mid ribs. The patient went onto have a CT scan which revealed an expansile mass in the anterior 6 th rib on the left with pleural deposits.

The patient was diagnosed with a haematological malignancy and low back pain was the initial presenting complaint.
