41 year old lady with history of back pain and gastritis presented with myalgia and proximal muscles weakness. Her VBG showed the following:

PH = 7.27

PO2 = 32 mmHg

PCO2 = 34 mmHg

HCO3 = 16 mmol/L

Na = 140 mmol/L

K = 2.2 mmol/L

Cl = 116 mmol/L

Cr = 88 nmol/L

BSL = 5.4 mmol/L

Lactate = 1.1 mmol/L

 Questions:
