Lab case 442

44 year old man presented to ED with fatigue and weakness. His blood gases showed the following:

PH = 7.236

PCO2 = 30 mmol/L

PO2= 44.6 mmol/L

HCO3 = 12.5 mmol/L

Na = 140 mmol/L

K = 2.7 mmol/L

Cl = 124 mmol/L

BSL = 7.6 mmol/L

Lac = 1.3 mmol/L

Creatinine = 85 nmol/L
