Imaging Case of the Week 563 Answer

The supine chest x-ray shows a lucent right lung field. There appears to be mild mediastinal shift to the left.

The above findings could be related to a supine right sided pneumothorax or air trapping in the right lung from a foreign body in the right main bronchus.

There was no history of foreign body inhalation. An erect chest done showed a small right sided pneumothorax.

The patient had RSV bronchiolitis and was managed conservatively by the specialist.
