ECG of the Week – 16th September 2020

You have been handed over a 58 year old male patient who presented yesterday with a seizure on a background history of alcohol dependence. He also has a history of depression and GORD. He has never fitted before and is being admitted under the medics. As part or your review you request an ECG.

On examination his Observations are: P82, BP110/78, RR 19, Sats 98%. He has no signs of focal neurology. Other examinations are unremarkable apart from a mild resting tremor.

He has been managed with diazepam as per the Alcohol Withdrawal Chart and is currently feeling better.
