The gallium scan shows ‘ Panda Sign’ due to tracer accumulation in the parotid and lacrimal glands.

The patient was subsequently diagnosed with neurosarcoidosis.

Panda sign is seen when there is accumulation of Gallium in the inflamed parotid & lacrimal glands. It is seen on Gallium scan in cases of sarcoidosis, lymphoma, malignancies (melanoma, bronchogenic carcinoma).
