Imaging Case of the Week 601 Answer

The pelvic x-ray shows

a fracture of the right ilium. There are ecg leads visible and an external artifact likely from pelvic binder is also visible. This patient was hypotensive when picked up by the emergency services and hence had a prehospital pelvic binder applied.

The fracture is easy to miss if one concentrates entirely on the pubic bones and neck of femur in a trauma patient!

Above patient was managed conservatively.
