The chest x-ray reveals sail sign. There is a triangular sail type density behind the heart with a double left heart border. Other relevant findings are silhouetting of the medial left hemi-diaphragm and depression of the left main bronchus.

This finding is indicative of a left lower lobe collapse.

Causes are endobronchial tumor, mucus plugging or foreign body in lower lobe bronchus.
