42 year old man with complicated clavicular fractur complained of nausea. His VBG showed the following:

PH = 7.3

PCO2 = 36 mmHg

PaO2 = 44 mmHg

HCO3 = 18 mmol/L

Na = 144 mmol/L

K = 4.3 mmol/L

Cl = 106 mmol/L

Cr = 76 nmol/L

Glucose = 3.2 mmol/L

Lactate = 1.7 mmol/L

Blood ketones = 5 mmol/L

Serum osmolality = 301 mOsm/kg

 Questions:
