15 year old boy presented with tiredness, abdominal pain and shortness of breath. His blood gases (Venous) showed the following:

PH = 6.71

PO2 = 65 mmHg

PCO2 = 23 mmHg

HCO3 = 7 mmol/L

Na = 131  mmol/L

K = 5.2 mmol/L

Cl = 98 mmol/L

Hb = 167 g/dl

Glucose = 32 mmol/L

Lactate = 6.9 mmol/L

Creatinine = 103 umol/L
