4 year old girl stopped eating and drinking due to sore throat. Her venous blood gases showed the following

PH = 7.236

PaCO2 = 29 mmHg

PO2 = 35 mmHg

HCO3 = 12 mmol/L

Hb = 147 g/L

Na = 139 mmol/L

K = 4.6 mmol/L

Cl 107 mmol/L

Glucose = 2.6 mmol/L

Lactate = 2.4 mmol/L

Creatinine = 50 nmol/L

Ketones = 5.9 mmol/L

 

 Questions:
