An alcoholic person with severe peripheral neuropathy was brought to ED with low GCS. He had multiple vomiting episodes the day before being brought to ED.
His venous blood gases showed the following:
PH = 7.28
pCO2 = 73 mmHg
pO2 = 15 mmHg
HCO3 = 34 mmol/L
Na = 102 mmol/L
K = 2.4 mmol/L
Cl = 26 mmol/L
Ionised Ca = 0.81
Hb = 134 g/L
Glucose = 13.8 mmol/L
Lactate = 27 mmol/L
Creatinine = 562 umol/L
Interpret these results.
