80 year old lady with type 2 DM was referred for high blood sugar. Her blood gases showed the following:

PH = 7.39

pCO2 = 48 mmol/L

HCO3 = 29 mmol/L

Hb = 95 g/L

Na = 137 mmol/L

K = 4.0 mmol/L

Cl = 94 mmol/L

Glucose = 30 mmol/L

Lactate = 1.9 mmol/L

Creatinine = 190 mmol/L

Ketones = 0.2 mmol/L
