Lab Case 448

75 year old lady presented to the emergency department after a fall. In ED she was found to be slightly febrile with blood pressure of 95/55. Part of the investigation performed was LFT   and it showed the following:

Bilirubin = 101  umol/L     (< 16)

ALP = 348 U/L           (30 – 110)

GGT = 483 U/L           (<36)

ALT = 161 U/L            (<31)

ALB = 40 g/L              (36 – 48)

TP = 72 g/L                (60 – 80)

 

Questions:

  1.  How will you explain these findings and what is the most probable diagnosis
  2. How will you manage this case
