Hoigne’s syndrome

= idiosyncratic  response to procaine in procaine benzylpenicillin, characterised by psychosis, anxiety, hallucinations, hypertension, tachycardia

Multiple case reports describing similar symptoms after amoxycillin. Symptoms are often blamed on sepsis-induced delirium.

Treatment: stop / change the offending antibiotic
